FAQAt what price should I sell and how do I use stops?
- After your order is executed you should place a stop sell order immediately at the specified price,(usually between 4-6%), as noted in the newsletter.
- If the stock moves up 3% or greater you should move your stop sell order up to breakeven.
- When the stock hits our target you can either sell all or sell half moving your stop higher as the stock moves higher.
What is the difference between a buy stop order and a buy limit order?
- Buy Stop Order = A market order to buy securities that begins to work once the specified stop price is attained or penetrated.
- Buy Limit Order = An order to buy a security at a specified price or better.
What is the minimum amount to invest?
There is no minimum, however we post in our newsletter on average 3-5 stocks per week. That would give you approx 20% per stock if you wanted to trade all of them.
What brokerages autotrade for you?
Speedtrader, Synergy, AOS, Robbinstrading, Questrade and Investrade. Check our Partner Sites Page for additional information.
Are there any fees associated with autotrading?
There are no additional fees from our service to autotrade.
How will I know if the market is in an uptrend or downtrend?
We will try to give you some insight on this in our weekly newsletter. We offer intermediate term and long term signals. These signals are highly accurate and would cost significantly more if you were to receive them outside of our service.
What is a trailing stop?
An order where the stop price is set at a fixed amount below the market price. If the market price rises on a trailing sell stop, the stop price rises by this amount, but if the stock price falls on a trailing sell stop, the stop loss price doesn't change.
Most services give you numerous recommendations why don't you?
We try to narrow our recommendations down to the stocks we feel have the greatest potential to produce gains in a short period of time.
Should I use stop losses?
You should always use stop losses. We encourage everyone to set a 5-6% stop loss unless otherwise directed. We can't emphasize just how important stop losses are.
If the market is in a downtrend how do you find stocks that are poised to move on the long side?
Although there are far fewer stocks to choose from there are usually sectors that are strong with stocks that are favorable. However, we all must use caution when going against the market trends.
What if a stock(s) does not execute on Monday? Is it still valid on Tuesday - Friday?
Yes, when we send out our newsletter on Sunday evening the stocks we recommend are applicable through the end of that week (Friday), unless noted otherwise. If they execute on Friday , they are still valid and will be updated in the weekend newsletter.
Should all stocks be sold at the end of the week ( Friday)?
No, not unless you want to free up capital for the next weeks picks. Updates on each stock position is posted in the weekend newsletter.
What if a stock does not execute during the full week (Monday - Friday)?
If a stock does not execute based on our instructions it is considered invalid and should be null and void. Do not play it the following week unless our Sunday evening newsletter recommends it again.
What do I do if your stock gaps up beyond the buy stop price?
When a stock gaps up your buy stop order will be executed at the open price so pay close attention to the limit price listed. (Specific instructions on maximum buy prices are noted in the newsletter). You should adjust your stop sell order accordingly. If a stock gaps up past our buy order/max buy price and hits our target price your buy order should be cancelled. It is considered null and void.
